Whoops! Child Safety Project - Webdurance 2010!
Website design with Drupal CMS.
I took part in Webdurance 2010 (www.webdurance.org) which is a 24hr website build for 6 charities and involving around 36 developers. Our charity was Whoops! Child Safety Project, a charity which aims to reduce child injuries through training, and educating the public. Our team - composed of 5 North East-based web designers / web developers won best design for our notice board-inspired theme. The website was built onto the Drupal CMS, which Whoops! Child Safety Project can use to update the website.
Freeman Hospital
Video / audio website with CMS.
I currently do voluntary work for the Ouseburn Trust and produced these designs for a selection of their partners.
They were all produced in Photoshop CS4.
The website contains video / audio / articles and is an oral history project focusing on people's past experiences in the area.
The brief was to create an easy-to-navigate website which would support a video player.
NHS logo has been used in accordance with required guidelines.
Shopping Design
XML API / Shopping / Price Comparison.
This design was produced for a previous client but was never realised because they decided not to go ahead. I was quite proud of the design work so I uploaded it. This was designed in Photoshop CS4. The aim of the website was also to use shopping.com's xml api to draw the products and offers in for price comparisons. This would have been implemented in PHP.
Gascare
CMS administration tool
This is a PHP/MySQL administration tool for a plumbing company. I updated much of the code and also developed new features such as the calendar feature. The calendar can display upcoming events for each employee and you can use it to cycle through the months and days. I also developed the invoicing system (image 2) which updates the invoices for each payment from a customer.
ITPS
Brochure website with CMS.
I developed and designed IT-PS' website. It was designed in Photoshop and the client had a lot of design input at every stage. Consequently the design work is a little unusual but this is what they wanted. The website (PHP/MySQL) has a lot of content which is updated via a large CMS. This allows the people at ITPS to update every aspect of the website without technical knowledge being a requirement. You can see some of the CMS in images 2 and 3.
Hill Compare
Affiliate website CMS.
Hill Compare is a large price comparison website. It features a huge CMS which is used to update lots of the affiliate offers which are on the website, advertisements, links, subcategories, rss content, and icons. The website was built in PHP/MySQL and features search engine friendly urls (Apache Modrewrite).
Newcourt Chambers
Brochure website with CMS.
Newcourt Chambers are a law firm operating in Newcastle. There website is a brochureware website written in PHP/MySQL and has a CMS for managing all content. The special thing about this website is the ability to add new links to the side menu bar and at the same time have some of the buttons point to standalone scripts. The client can also add new members to the left sidebar and update all content regarding the members on each profile page. It also features, Google maps (contact page) and Google Analytics like all the other websites here.
Cellular Solutions
Brochure website with CMS.
Cellular Solutions is a mobile phone application provider. I designed this website in Photoshop and coded it in PHP/MySQL. This website also involved working heavily with the client to achieve a satisfactory design.
Keyhaven Publications
E-commerce website.
Keyhaven are a law firm specialising in law books and seminars. For the Keyhaven website I produced 4 designs for the client to choose from. They chose the second design which can be seen in image 2. I designed this website in Photoshop CS4 and produced the XHTML/CSS. It was later coded up by a fellow team member in ASP.net (C#).
Game design
Brochure website
This was a game layout I produced in order to take my Photoshop skills further. This is really a design experiment.
Portfolio website
Previous portfolio website
The following images show the previous portfolio website I had on here before. The design needed improving so I came up with what you see now instead.
Managemyflats
Properties CMS
Managemyflats.com is an idea I have been working on for a while. It's a property website for agencies and individuals. It takes the form of a large content management system for managing all sorts of content. It features jquery carousels, property management, image management, and support tickets for example. I put the website up to demonstrate the design work I'd done.
